Love is in the air and Valentine’s Day is around the corner. Whether you’re planning a ladies night out with your girls, or a hot date night with your lover, makeup is a must! With just getting over the holidays it’s time to DIY (DO IT YOURSELF) and save money. Learn the tricks of the trade as you complete your DIY Valentine’s Day Makeup Look.

Face – Keep your foundation to a minimal. While foundation is important, you will want to create a classic look. Use a great cleanser, moisturizer and primer to start. Liquid or cream-to-powder foundation is best for this season. I recommend MAC studio fix fluid foundation or Revlon Color Stay. Apply MAC with medium foundation makeup brush and Revlon (Revlon becomes a little thicker when applied) with a wet sponge like applicator for easy application.
Eyes – Groom your brows with light fill-in, ensuring your brow highlight is about ½ shade lighter than your skin tone. Apply natural false lash strip to eyes or heavy mascara and liquid eyeliner for top lid and pencil liner for bottom lid. No eyeshadow. Eyeshadow is not needed to create a great DIY Valentine Day look. I suggest Benefit “They’re Real” Mascara or Maybelline the Falsies Mascara. Apply one coat of Benefit Mascara and 2 coats of Maybelline.
Lips – Create a bold lip with berry colors or nudes. This season is all about bold lips don’t be left behind. Have your lover or friends raving about your lips. I recommend MAC Heroine or Covergirl Divine. Apply one light coat of MAC and one heavier coat of Covergirl, just in the middle of lips. Add a complimentary lip liner and blend all harsh lines leaving a light ombre look.
